To start your journey towards becoming a Starks franchise owner, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Fill Out the Franchise Inquiry Form

The first step in joining the Starks franchise is to complete our Franchise Inquiry Form here. This form allows us to gather essential information about you and your interest in our franchise opportunity. Please provide accurate and detailed responses, as this will assist us in understanding your background and qualifications. Once we receive your information, our team will carefully review your submission. We will assess your qualifications, experience, and overall fit with the Starks franchise model. Our goal is to ensure a mutually beneficial partnership where both parties can thrive

Step 2: Initial Discussion and Discovery Call

If your initial qualifications align with our franchise requirements, we will schedule an initial discussion and discovery call. This call allows us to delve deeper into your background, business development goals, and expectations. It also provides an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the franchise opportunity. In turn, this call gives us the opportunity to learn more about you as a potential franchise owner, and if we think you would be a good fit for the Starks Barber Company franchise opportunity.

Step 3: Receive your Application & FDD

Once we have completed the initial discussion and discovery call, our franchise team will share with you our application and FDD. Take your time to review the material and let our team know if you have any questions. The FDD is not a contract, it is simply a document that outlines the information needed to get a Starks franchise up and running.

Step 4: Discovery Day

We will invite you to a Discovery Day at one of our locations in Toronto, CA. This immersive all day experience gives you the opportunity to meet our team, visit a Starks Barber Company location, and get a firsthand look at our operations. It also allows us to assess your cultural fit with the Starks brand. Our in-depth Discovery Day program covers all aspects of our business model, from site-selection, design and build, training, hiring, and marketing.

Step 5: Document Signing

Once you have had a chance to review the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) and all other documentation, and had the chance to visit a Starks location and speak with some current franchise owners, as well as our Co-Founders, both parties can move forward with signing the Franchise Agreement. This legally binding document solidifies our partnership and outlines the rights and responsibilities of both parties. It is crucial to review the agreement carefully and seek legal counsel to ensure your understanding and compliance.

Step 6: Training

Congratulations! You are now an official Starks Barber Company franchise owner. Once you have thoroughly reviewed and signed all documentation, we can begin in earnest. We start with a 3 day Owner’s Training program that is both in-store and in the boardroom. During the boardroom portion, the following is covered: CRM, Schedule Optimization, Policies, Customer Service & CX, Product Knowledge and Sales, Local Marketing, Financials of the Business, Staff Skill Training (we have a partnership with one of the leading private colleges in Canada where franchisees have access to workshops run every 8 weeks, customized/private Starks training sessions throughout the year, and our own training manual designed to have your most experienced barbers continuously train the least experienced barbers in-store), Hiring and conducting interviews, and building culture. Our ongoing support system will also be readily available to assist you as you prepare to launch and grow your own Starks franchise.

Step 7: Opening Day and Beyond

With the completion of your training, the construction of your location, and the right team behind you, it’s time to open your Starks location and welcome customers to your establishment. We will continue to provide ongoing support, including marketing and branding assistance, operational guidance, and access to our network of experienced professionals. Franchisees also get a quarterly long-form meeting “Commitment to Excellence Review” with the Franchisor that uses an evaluation rubric to let them know how they are doing, identify areas of improvement and help them forecast performance. Together, we will work towards your success and the growth of the Starks Barber Company brand.
